Why preschool and not just plain daycare?

The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) says that kindergarten readiness is not just about knowing the ABC’s and 123’s, or other academic measures of preparation for pre-K aged children. “People used to think children were ready for kindergarten if they could say the ABC’s, count, identify colors, and write their first name. Readiness was always more complicated than that, and new brain research is helping us understand what readiness really is. Readiness doesn’t mean just knowing the academic basics. It means a child has a willing attitude and confidence in the process of learning: a healthy state of mind.”

Addressing Literacy Challenge:

40% of students walk into kindergarten 1-2 years behind. The #1 indicator of future academic success is early childhood literacy. Our Community 4K program is literacy-focused and uses award-winning literacy technology to give these littlest learners the solid foundation all other learning is built on. With a licensed teacher leading our program with 15 years of kindergarten teaching experience, she knows how to best make every child ready for day 1 of kindergarten.

STEAM Immersive Learning

2, 3 and 4 year olds are not designed to learn at a desk all day with a worksheet. All children, but especially at this age level, need immersive and interactive learning opportunities that promote the joy of discovery. Engagement is the key to retention. And little minds are capable of so much! With our innovative STEAM program, we teach an introduction to robotics, computer coding, working with a 3-D printer, and unplugged opportunities with our immersive art program. (STEAM stands for Science-Technology-Engineering-Art-Math).

Nature Based Learning

Our facility sits on 13 beautiful acres in a picturesque country setting. With opportunities you cannot get at an in-town program, children are able to go on nature walks, and operate an early childhood garden center. This program highlights our agricultural heritage of our region and state and takes advantage of the benefits of learning in nature and about nature.
